Turnip Fries

4 turnip roots, cut into strips (skins on)
2 tbs
extra virgin olive oil
seasoning (chipotle powder, paprika, pepper, and sea salt)

Wash turnips well. Slice and then cut slices into wedges,  or thin strips, your choice in the manner of a French Fried potato. Toss in extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and pepper and other seasonings of choice. I love to use a little chili powder and seasoned salt, play around with your favorites.

Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 375 for approx. 30 minutes, turning once.  The time may vary as to how you have sliced them.

Season with your favorite seasonings. Optional: Serve with catsup or Bar-B-Que sauce which is my favorite.

For those of you using the Glycemic index, Potatoes have a very high glycemic Index and Turnips have a low glycemic index. Go for health!
